Art direction and real-time content creation for CCXP—the world’s largest pop culture festival—reaching over 280,000 attendees across 4 days of live coverage.

About
CCXP (Comic Con Experience) is the world’s biggest pop culture festival. The 2019 edition brought together more than 280,000 people over four days, packed with studio activations, celebrity panels, brand booths, and cosplayers.
As part of the official art direction team, my role was to create dynamic digital pieces for social media in real time. The main challenge was to capture the energy of hundreds of simultaneous events, creating high-impact visuals live without missing the event’s fast-paced momentum.
Creative Strategy
To keep the audience engaged on Instagram, we designed a continuous feed layout where every published post visually connected to the next, building a cohesive social grid throughout the festival.
We balanced bold creative direction—using custom graphic interventions and illustrated frames for major announcements—with clean imagery for instant event highlights.

Real-Time Art Direction
Working on-site required quick decision-making, speed, and sharp creative judgment. Images, video frames, and graphics had to be created and published within minutes of live panel announcements.
This fast-paced environment meant adapting campaign aesthetics on the fly, ensuring that every asset met high visual standards while capitalizing on real-time trending moments.
Fast-Paced Execution
Covering a festival of this scale meant prioritizing content instantly. By combining striking typography with high-energy visuals, the live art direction sustained audience excitement and drove massive interaction across digital channels.
Results & Impact
The real-time social media campaign generated record engagement for CCXP: driving millions of impressions, maintaining a seamless grid narrative throughout the 4-day event, and creating an immersive experience for fans following online.

Key Takeaway
Directing creative work live under intense pressure taught me how to combine speed, bold storytelling, and visual impact—skills that continue to inform my creative and strategic approach today.
